Full description
Woodhouse, H. B. S., 1896, 14th Report of the Committee on Devonshire Folklore, 98-99 (Article in Serial). SDV20512.
Corked jar found while digging up the main path in the churchyard. Found to contain several spikes broken from a thorn bush and some pins. Probably a witch bottle. Believed that to destroy the power of a witch it was necessary to bury such a bottle in three different churchyards.
