Full description
Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.
Group of buildings depicted (Plots 1154 and 1248). Both plots are recorded as 'Houses etc' on the Chulmleigh Tithe Apportionment, with Plot 1248 part of West Week and Plot 1154 part of East Week.

Site visit 9th July 1993. Settlement site west of East Week. Buildings shown on Tithe Map plots 1154 and 1248, described as 'Houses etc'. Earthworks visible as terraces in the field. Plot 1154 was coloured grey on the map indicating that it was unoccupied at the time.

The former settlement of Week is now two farmsteads, West Week and East Week. Earthworks are visible at SS73351686 and SS73381678 where additional houses are shown on the Tithe Map. Lump terraces of possibly three or four buildings was found at SS73481716. Nothing shown here on the Tithe Map, but it is connected to the rest of Week by a substantial track of more than average width.
