A double ditched enclosure of probable late prehistoric to Roman date is visible on aerial photographs as curvilinear cropmarks on west-facing slopes overlooking the River Culm. The cropmarks are approximately 2 metres wide and spaced 7 to 8 metres apart, defining the northern edge of a probably oval enclosure. The cropmarks are not complete and the southern extent of the probable enclosure cannot be seen. A former field boundary of probable medieval or later date crosses the enclosure from west to east. A curvilinear cropmark extends to the south-east from the south-western edge of the visible enclosure cropmark, but it is unclear what relationship, if any, there is between this and the double ditched enclosure.
