A ring ditch was visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs on the gentle south-east facing slopes overlooking the River Culm, north-west of Hele. A central pale cropmark circa 10 metres in diameter might be evidence of a levelled mound. An irregular dark cropmark between 1 to 3 metres wide could be evidence of a former ditch enclosing the mound. The date and function of the ring ditch are unknown, but it is possible it is the remains of a barrow of later prehistoric date. The cropmark was not visible on other images available to the survey and should be targeted for further investigation.
