Cropmarks of possible pits of unknown date are visible on aerial photographs of 1987 on the north-east-facing slopes overlooking the River Kenn, north of Chiverstone Farm, Kenton. Previous interpretations have recorded the cropmarks as forming a pit circle. Reassessment of the aerial photographs has concluded that although some of the visible cropmarks may be archaeological in origin, they are not well enough defined to be recorded as a pit circle and are probably partly obscured by cropmarks of natural origin.

Many of the aerial photographs consulted are copies of DAPs held by the Historic England Archive. These have been recorded here as separate sources as there is a possibility that variations in processing could result in images on which archaeological features show differently than on the original images.
