Boundary stone shown as 'Stone' on early 20th century map on Crownhill Down.

Boundary stone inscribed 'LM 1887'. Set up on purchase of area to the north by Lee Moor Clay Works.

Six boundary stones inscribed 'LM 1887' have been identified on Crownhill Down. They were set up on the purchase of an area by the Lee Moor Clay Works. They are each about 0.8 metres high and 0.3 metres square with the inscription on one face of the dressed granite pillar.
