Full description

Royal Commission for the Historical Monuments of England, 1991, Duchy of Cornwall Enclosed Farmland Project: Archaeological Survey and Evaluation Dartmoor infill areas (Report - Survey). SDV364202.

(08/08/1988) SX 59767754. A tinner's cache on the southern margin of extensive streamworks centred on Beardown Brook (Monument HOB UID 619345). The structure remains to a maximum height of 1.0m, the S and E walls comprises of coursed stones with upright slabs on the north. Internally the cache measures 2.0m E-W by 1.5m N-S. An entrance in the west side is marked by two upright slabs 0.7m apart. Roofing slabs 0.25m thick have collapsed and now block the interior.

(Survey date: 8/8/1988) A tinner's cache on the south margin of extensive streamworks centred on Beardown Brook. The structure remains to a maximum height of 1 metre, the south and eastern walls comprised of coursed stones with upright slabs on the north. Internally the cache measures 2.0 metres east-west by 1.5 metres north-south. An entrance in the western side is marked by two upright slabs 0.7 metres apart. Roofing slabs 0.25 metres thick have collapsed and now block the interior.
