Full description
Royal Commission for the Historical Monuments of England, 1987-1993, Duchy Farms Project Survey Visit (Report - Survey). SDV350839.
(27/09/1988) A U-shaped excavation, open to the SE, cutting a level into the hillside for 17m. It is up to 14m wide and 3m deep at the back, on the NW. Water issues from its base which is partially filled with dumped stone from the farm and fields. It is possibly a blocked adit connected with the nearby tinworkings (SX 67 SE 148). It is depicted on OS 1st and 2nd editions 1885, 1902 and OS 25" 1951.
