Summary
Earthwork remains of a post Medieval leat which probably originated on a small stream approximately 400 metres west of Whiteworks Mine. An archaeological field survey in 1989 identified about a 450 metre section of the now dry leat. The leat survives as a ditch 1.4m wide and 0.2m deep, and runs southwest-northeast, some 25 metres southeast of the Devonport Leat (Monument HOB UID 1463454). The downstream end is lost in the large openworks at the centre of Whiteworks Mine.
