Summary

Two possible hut circles at settlement north of Blackbrook River noted on 1982 Dunnabridge Farm plan were visited in 1988 and confirmed as natural features.

Full description

Greeves, T. A. P., 1982, Dunnabridge Farm (Plan - measured). SDV266230.

Two small circular features are depicted on the Dartmoor National Park sketch plot.
SX 61187436. A ? hut circle approximately 4.3m in diameter.
SX 61397423. A ? circular feature approximately 4.6m in diameter.

(24/02/1988) The two features lie on open, undulating peat-covered moorland, adjacent to a large settlement and fragmentary field system (SX 67 SW 6).
SX 61187436. Identifiable on the ground as a slight sub-circular scoop in an east-facing slope this feature is caused by spring sapping and is of entirely natural origin.
SX 61397425. A small water-filled natural hollow is all that can be traced in the indicated.
Neither feature is of archaeological significance.
NB: these features have been included on the GIS layers based on this survey as prehistoric hut circles [Richards, A. F., 08/06/2022].
