Summary

A 270m stretch of leat on the fringe of and within Swincombe streamwork. The leat, a sited, U-shaped channel 1m wide x 0.4m deep with upcast bank 1m wide x 0.3m high on the north, probably originally took water from the River Swincombe for use in the extraction of alluvial tin in the adjacent streamworking.

(09/08/1988) A 270m stretch of leat on the fringe of and within Swincombe streamwork (SX 67 SW 181), running between SX 6343 7216 and SX 6366 7230.
The leat, a sited, U-shaped channel 1m wide x 0.4m deep with upcast bank 1m wide x 0.3m high on the N, probably originally took water from the River Swincombe for use in the extraction of alluvial tin in the adjacent streamworking.
