Summary
A possible Medieval or later tinworking comprising a deep northeast-southwest orientated linear excavation. An archaeological field survey in 1990 recorded a trench measuring between 5 metres and 7.5 metres wide with a maximum of 2 metres. Upcast debris accentuates the depth of the trench. Several heaps of small boulders and cobbles line the side of this feature and a wide embanked channel branches north off the main excavation and runs down the steep northeast facing slope. The debris on the sides of this feature are uncharacteristic of tinners openworks though the stone piles within the trench are suggestive of sampling and may indicate an unproductive prospecting site.
