HER Number:MDV54685
Name:Leat south of Teignhead Farm

Summary

Fragments of a silted leat are visible on the left bank of the North Teign River. Between its origin and SX 63588405 it is traceable as a slight revetted shelf 1.4m wide. Erosion of the steep river bank has destroyed its course between SX 63588405 and SX 63638407, here it re-appears as a channel 1.2m wide and 0.3m deep with a denuded bank 1.0m wide and 0.2m high. It then runs N across an area of rough grazing to SX 63728432. It apparently supplied the extensive streamworks (SX 68 SW 101) which lie along Manga Brook.
