Full description

Royal Commission for the Historical Monuments of England, 1987-1993, Duchy Farms Project Survey Visit, M. J. Fletcher (Report - Survey). SDV350839.

(18/8/1990) A ruined tinners building, probably a dwelling, and also a tinner's cache lie within openworks (SX 68 SW 112) on the W slope of a rounded highpoint on the broad valley bottom of the Lade Hill Brook.
The roofless tinner's cache lies 20m to the south of the tinner's hut at SX 63868166.
Set into an upcast spoil mound it measures approximately 1.3m by 1.1m internally with crude drystones coursed walling, incorporating large natural boulders 1.0m high. The W side is now open but a spread of stone in front may be the remains of a collapsed wall. Although it is now somewhat exposed the small chamber when roofed would have been completely hidden amidst the large natural boulders and upcast mound which surround it.
