Stedcombe House or Manor. Stedcombe was 'Estotacoma' in Domesday. Present house built 1695 to replace house destroyed 1644 during Civil War. Listed Grade I. Listed features include enclosing walls/balustrade, garden walls and associated features and former stableyard (Listed Grade II).

Stockdale described Stedcombe House as ‘a handsome mansion and being built on a richly wooded eminence has a very pleasing appearance’. There are two rectangular terrace gardens and a second walled kitchen garden enclosed by eighteenth century red brick walls in Flemish bond. The formal layout of these gardens has been restored.
