Full description

Turton, S. D., 1991, Historic Landscape Assessment of Possible Access Routes to Higher Bruckland Reservoir, 2 (Report - Assessment). SDV351556.

Possible building platform observed during fieldwork. Lies in a field immediately south of a pronounced dog-leg in the road, and appears as a flattened area circa 3 metres deep terraced into the natural slope. Although a geological explanation cannot be discounted, the size and form together with the distinctive bend in the road at this point are suggestive of the former presence of buildings. No documentary or cartographic evidence has been identified.

Exeter Archaeology, 2003-2004, East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Archaeological Survey, Site No. 1417 (Archive - Survey). SDV351568.

Possible building platform seen during fieldwork. Flattened terrace c. 3m deep to south of pronounced dog-leg in road. Possible natural feature but size, form and location at distinctive bend in road suggests former site of buildings. No documentary or cartographic evidence identified.
