(SX 5896 6633, SX 5899 6632 and SX 5894 6635. Two pillow mounds and V-shaped gully forming part of Hentor Warren.
The wester pillow mound survives as a 33m by 4m by 1.3m high, flat topped, sub rectangular mound of soil +and stone surrounded by the 2m wide and 0.3m deep ditch from which construction material was quarried. This mound is unusual in that it is aligned along the contour of the hillside.
The eastern pillow mound is of similar appearance and survives as a 44m by 5m by 1.5m high mound with a 3m wide and 0.7m deep ditch visible on three sides. Both mounds overlie earlier field boundary banks which form part of an extensive field system which is considered to have been built during the Medieval period and reused in post-Medieval times.
The V-shaped gully lies downslope of the mounds. The western arm is 35m long, 1m wide and 0.3m deep and leads into a leat. The eastern arm has identical dimensions but cuts through the leat. Gullies such as this one are generally considered to be drains, although their location on steep well drained slopes suggests that some at least may have served as animal runs leading to vermin traps or snares.
