A number of military huts are recorded on raf ap coverage around stokehill wood. Some hutting also marked on os 1954 map. Dispersed accommodation site for raf harrowbeer. Probable guard hut beside road. No buildings recorded here on current dcc computerised mapbase (dob worksheet).

The barracks are visible as a complex of rectilinear pitched-roofed structures along hedgebanks and the borders of Stokehill Wood, on aerial photographs taken between 1946 and 1951. A few smaller and probably flat-roofed structures are interspersed amongst the larger buildings. They are not visible on aerial photographs taken from 1964 onwards.
