Vis=11/3/1996 (ea) trackway between parallel banks. Banks are 1.5m wide by 0.75m high and 8m apart. Difficult to trace on the ground because of tall gorse and heather. Can be seen best immediately s of the road to dawlish that runs e off the b3192. Map evidence shows that it runs for c.350m n/s. Shown on 1984 1:10000 map.1890 os 6" map shows that it continued s to meet the present crossroad; this end now appears to have been removed by nt car park.

The course of a former road or track of probable post medieval to 19th century date is visible on aerial photographs of 1946, as an area of disturbed and near levelled earthwork 10 to 20m wide and approximately 260m long. The disturbance is interpreted as evidence of deliberate removal and effacing of the former route. The original extent of the route is depicted on the Tithe Map for Bishopsteignton and the Ordnance Survey 25inch First Edition map of circa 1880, extending for circa 600m from Castle Plantation in the north.
