Area of quarried ground runs roughly SW-NE above low marshy area, currently wooded. Not marked as quarry on any of the OS maps 1889-1969, but the impact of the quarrying is reflected in the recorded field boundaries on all these maps. The area is recorded as 'Great Beanhay and Coppice' on the 1817 Inclosure Award.
