The area is recorded as 'Quarry Ground and Coppice' on the 1817 Inclosure Award.

Quarry recorded here on Yarcombe Tithe Map (c1840). The area is marked as 'Limekiln Break' on an Estate map of 1809.

Horner, S., 2005, Lime burning at Woodhayne (Correspondence). SDV322765.

The Estate map of 1814 indicates the lime working in the area.
