Castle Shaft is the western shaft of Wheal Maria mine into Main Lode. The shaft could not be found during the survey but local people say it was at this location & capped in 2000. It is recorded as being 60 fms (109.73m) to the west of Gard's Shaft which would locate it closer to the adit to the west (see PRN 71295). Other details: Site 30.
