Site of a small rectangular feature on OS 25" (1880s) map.

Not recorded on OS 6" (1884) map.
Ordnance Survey, 1907, 105 SW (Cartographic). SDV276342.

'Old Shaft' recorded on OS 6" (1954) map to SW of Hawkmoor House.

Site of Path Shaft not shown on the 19C maps but present as 'Old Shaft' on the OS (1904) map at Wheal Emma mine. The survey in 2002 found a rectangular shaft 3m x 2.4m with 0.6m high masonry walls full of rubbish. A depression 5m to the north of the shaft may be the site of the capstan & a 4m long working platform was identified to the south. A short section of tramway from SX43287343 to SX43247341 connected Path Shaft to the Railway line. The survey found a track 0,5m deep c10m to the southwest of the shaft. Other details: Sites 270,270/1,271.
