Course of iron flat-rods to Bennett's shaft from waterwheel near 1907 mill and Brenton's shaft. There were a quarter of a mile of rods. Bennett's Shaft is thought to have been sunk around 1880 and the pumping was achieved by means of the flat rods worked by the wheel immediately south-west of Brenton's Shaft.
