Full description
Hobson, J.M., 1926, Some Early and Later Houses of Pity, 36-7 (Monograph). SDV350333.
Leland says that "ther is an hospitale of the foundation of two merchant men, Akebarrow and Hodgekin Overstal, standing hard without the North Bargate" (at Tavistock). This was the decayed hospital of St Nicholas, mentioned in 1286 and in the times of Edward III and Richard II.
