Full description

Griffith, F. M., 1995, DAP/YO, 7-8 (Aerial Photograph). SDV156001.

Jury, R., 1996, Possible Pillbox, Salcombe Harbour (Worksheet). SDV335927.

Site visited on 13th June 1996. A rectangular concrete structure with vision slit sited to north of Fort Charles on west side of Salcombe Harbour. Unlikely to be an XDO post (remote minefield detonation) as it is well within the harbour and upstream of the gun battery. Possibly a pillbox.

Horner, W., 1996, Untitled Source (Personal Comment). SDV336277.

Photograph attached to above worksheet would suggest that this is in fact an XDO post controlling mines in the approaches to Salcombe Harbour.
