A possible marl pit of between medieval to 18th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, to the south of Oaklands. The irregular shaped earthwork measures approximately 100m in length by 22m in width and is located on the western side of a road. The earthwork pit remains visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016.
