Southleigh tm (1840) indicates a round tower within a clearing. Apportionment records "plantation at tower" and "plantation opposite tower". Not shown on the os 6" (1889) map. "tower plantation" still recorded on os 6" (1963) map. It is suggested that the tower may have been built as a prospect tower or folly for wiscombe park (1826) (worksheet).
