BIRD + HIRST, Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV221965.

Brimpts north mine. Openwork, sx65237512 to sx65387510. A succession of shallow workings along the line of an e-w tin-bearing lode extending for 150m and of a type now known as lode-back pits. At the w end later workings have erased the evidence of these early structures, but the e section is largely untouched and the sites of a succession of small shafts or pits can be seen. It is thought that shaft subsheet 9 may be one of these pits in an open state. No contemporaneous record is known, but a broad date of 17c is suggested (bird + hirst).
