Group of buildings clearly visible.

Site 3 (Communal). Buildings 281 and 282. Commanding Officer's Quarters and Officer's' Mess. Construction: rendered 4.5 inch brick with piers at ten feet centres supporting 28 feet span steel trusses carrying corrugated asbestos sheeting. Function: commanding officer's residence and officers' mess for up to 100 officers. Mess consisting of four buildings linked together to provide kitchen, scullery wash-up area, officers' mess, ante-room and card and writing rooms. Now part used as a dwelling and part as a store.
