Name:Hut circle 'D' within settlement south-west of White Tor, Peter Tavy

Summary

Hut recorded in 1988 survey described as 'well-preserved' with walling 1.2 metres to 2.1 metres wide and 0.4 metres to 0.7 metres high with a narrow gap in the southern arc, possibly the site of an entrance. The interior has a diameter between 2 metres 2.8 metres and is terraced by cutting into the slope 0.7 metres and building up downslope to 0.55 metres. Enclosure walls adjoin the hut circle on the north-west and south-east. A hut circle illustrated by Ordnance Survey Assessor immediately north-west of Hut Circle 'D' is an arc of enclosure walling only.

Full description

Pattison, P., 1988, Duchy Farms Survey (includes Cuddliptown Down) (Report - Survey). SDV226221.

(24/04/1988) Hut Circle 'D' at ?SX 5406 7854. Well-preserved with walling 1.2 metres to 2.1 metres wide and 0.4 metres to 0.7 metres high with a narrow gap in the southern arc, possibly the site of an entrance.
The interior has a diameter between 2 metres 2.8 metres and is terraced by cutting into the slope 0.7 metres and building up downslope to 0.55 metres.
Enclosure walls adjoin the hut circle on the north-west and south-east. A hut circle illustrated by Ordnance Survey Assessor immediately north-west of Hut Circle 'D' is an arc of enclosure walling only.

Uncertain location; grid reference quoted by Royal Commission does not match description of the hut. This example seems a potential candidate but if site visits disprove this the polygon will need adjusting.
