Full description

Gerrard, S., 1990-2002, Monument Protection Programme. Archaeological Item Dataset., MPP 140683 (Report - Survey). SDV277946.

Site visited on 1st April 1995. Animal run survives as a linear gully situated within a partially enclosed hut settlement. Survives as a 100 metre by 0.8 metres by 0.15 metres deep gully leading north to south. Material upcast during its construction forms a 1.5 metre wide and 0.2 metre high bank on the west side of the gully. At its south end, this gully cuts through an enclosure, whilst at the north end it leads to a kink in a field boundary. This gully probably represents part of a complex system of animal runs in which rabbits and vermin could have been trapped.

Thackray, C., 1994, The Upper Plym Valley: the management of an historic landscape, 52, 102 144 (Report - non-specific). SDV143510.
