Full description

Gerrard, S., 1990-2002, Monument Protection Programme. Archaeological Item Dataset., MPP 140520, 5/6/1997 (Report - Survey). SDV277946.

Visited on 5th June 1997. Recumbent boundary stone lies at the south-west of a round cairn. The stone measures 1.55 metres long by 0.57 metres wide and is lozenge shaped. On its upper surface the letters 'BC', one above the other in the apex at the east end are visible. The letter C could represent Cholwich Town/Manor or Cornwood Parish, while the B could denote Blandford Manor.
This stone may have once stood on top of the nearby cairn.

The fallen inscribed 'boundary stone' to south-west of Cairn '1' to the west of Shell Top probably once stood on the cairn.

The recumbent post-medieval boundary stone lies at the west-south-west foot of the cairn and it may have once stood upright on the cairn. This stone measures 1.55 metres long by 0.57 metres wide and is lozenge shaped. On its upper surface the letters 'BC', one above the other in the apex at the eastern end are visible. The letter C could represent Cholwich Town/Manor or Cornwood Parish, while the B could denote Blandford Manor.

[1346596] Recumbent Post Medieval boundary stone lying at the west south west foot of a round cairn (SX 56 SE 210) and which may have once stood upright on the cairn. The stone measures 1.55 metres by 0.57 metres and is lozenge shaped. On its upper surface the letters BC are visible, possibly representing Cholwich Town or Manor or Cornwood Parish and Blandford Manor. Scheduled ( EH scheduling amendment, 14-DEC-2000).
