Name:Stone implement found at Wheal Jewell, Willsworthy

Summary

A stone implement, 7 3/8 inches in length, 1 3/8 inches thick and 3 1/16th inches wide was found at Wheal Jewell, near Willsworthy. The implement is made from the local 'idiorite' and is partly rough-hewn, partly ground and polished.
Worth considers it to have been a flenching tool for removing hides from carcases but is not prepared to date it.

(SX 5181) A stone implement, 7 3/8 inches in length, 1 3/8 inches thick and 3 1/16th inches wide was found at Wheal Jewell, near Willsworthy. The implement is made from the local 'idiorite' and is partly rough-hewn, partly ground and polished.
