Summary

Flint scatter, yalland farm. This is made up of parts of three collections:- the stone collection (mus. Date 1975) which includes burins, knives, scrapers, points, fabricators, blades, leaf shaped and transverse arrowheads, notched and retouched flakes, and waste flakes. Also some possible mesolithic material and a small group of fire-crazed flints. Both flint and chert used.

Flint scatter, yalland farm. This is made up of parts of three collections:- the stone collection (mus. Date 1975) which includes burins, knives, scrapers, points, fabricators, blades, leaf shaped and transverse arrowheads, notched and retouched flakes, and waste flakes. Also some possible mesolithic material and a small group of fire-crazed flints. Both flint and chert used.
A scatter of flint implements and arrow and spearheads were found at Yalland Farm, South Brent. Now in Exeter Museum. acc. 1970/265 1-6, 102/1934, 183/1975: 5, 16, 22, 28, 29, 31-39, 65, 102, 105, 114, 123. (Yalland Farm SX 69136283).

The young collection (mus. Date 1934) is represented by two axes of flint or stone, described as rough celts.

The other (mus. Date 1975) includes scrapers, fabricators, blades, petit tranchet derivative arrowheads, knife, point, graver, retouched and waste flakes. A detailed description of the implements is given in the worksheet (in exeter museum).
