Wall across land exit from inlet at Compass Cove. May be related to cable landing or a separate defensive measure.
Batty, M., 2003, South Devon Coast Path Project: a study of the archaeology along the coast path in the South Hams from Staddon Heights to Sharkham Point, 82 (Un-published). SDV336214.
Wall in good condition with little sign of sea damage. Stone filled gabions afford some protection to the steps down to the cove.
