Summary

It is reported that several of the outer circle runway lights were still extant at st177117 and st168110 (all approx. ). On examination however, there is some doubt as to their original function. They consist of timber poles with metal brackets and ceramic insulators, and no light fittings were found. Looking similar to east devon electricity co. High voltage electrical supply poles, they could (and more likely) be positioned on the original route taken by the company in maintaining an electrical supply to the airfield (francis).
