A double ditch defined square enclosure and potentially associated field boundaries of probable later prehistoric or Roman date are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs of the 1980s on the lower south-east facing hillslopes to the north of Shuffshayes Farm. Although incompletely visible, overlain by a junction of modern road, the enclosure appears to measure at least 37 metres across. The cropmark of the inner ditch is approximately 2.5 metres wide, the less well defined outer ditch cropmark up to 1.5 metres wide. The outer ditch appears to abut linear cropmarks of a possible field boundary or partial field system, the main axis of which is aligned north-east to south west. Additional elements of this field pattern can be seen as cropmarks approximately 50 and 120 metres to the south-east.
