A small sub-circular quarry or extractive pit, of probable Post Medieval date, is visible on aerial photographs as an earthwork on the eastern slopes of Mockham Down, Brayford. It is depicted on the first edition Ordnance Survey map and annotated "quarry" suggesting it was still in use when the map was published in 1889. The quarry most likely supplied building stone for the nearby field boundaries. Other details: Monument Number 1488856.
