Military earthwork trenches of Second World War date are visible on aerial photographs of 1944 onwards, to the south of former RAF Exeter. The earthworks are dispersed along the southern edge of a field boundary across two adjacent agricultural fields. The earthworks comprise two north to south aligned zig-zag slit trenches, the eastern of the two being flanked by earthwork banks, and a longer, straighter east to west aligned trench to the east of these. A small rectangular structure, which is possibly associated, lies in-between the two eastern trenches. The earthworks and structure have been completely cleared on aerial photographs of 1966.
