Jenkinson, T., 2001 - 2006, Exeter to Barnstaple A377 (Report - Survey). SDV344456.

Visited on 8th August 2005. Milestone on path by the A377 in Bishop's Tawton, about 50 metres uphill from the Methodist Church, on the west side of the road, against the wall. In fair condition. Retains white painted legend, "2 Barum". One of the best examples of the characteristic Barnstaple tombstone set up in 1879 by Barnstaple Turnpike Trust immediately prior to its closure. Each of the stones bears the simple Barum legend with a number to signify the distance from the town.
