Full description
Maunder, P. L., 1996, Untitled Source (Worksheet). SDV345575.
Two fields named 'Sentry' and 'Great Down', now one field, were ploughed in 1996 for the first time in some 30 years. The fields slope to the north-west and have a stoney clay soil. A single traverse of length and one of width was fieldwalked. Nineteen pieces of flint were found, scattered evenly across the field. These comprised 1 flake core, 2 rounded scrapers, 9 retouched pieces (including 2 slightly burnt and 2 showing signs of denticulation), 3 pieces heat cracked and 4 others. Probably a Neollithic assemblage.
