This is a section of the "great central reave".

Visited on 14/th July 1950. Ancient trackway. A stone trackway crosses Bear Down, south of Devil Tor. It crosses the hill from east to west and is made of large rough slabs laid not quite close together, but a mans stride apart. R. H. Worth says that: "this is a reave (or bank) not a trackway".

Described as a path on the 1954 Ordnance Survey 1:10,560 scale map sheet, but looks like a reave on RAF 1951 and NMR 1969 aerials.
