Des=greeves, t. /(28/3/1998)/worksheet in pf. Vis=28/3/1998 (greeves) prehistoric ring cairn immediately on w side of rough track about 90m n of point where track joins tarmac road. External diam is c.22m-25m. The ring bank is c.4m wide where best preserved (on nw side) by c.0.4m high (max).
In the centre of the cairn is a large modern pit c.4m x 2m x 1m deep, on e rim is another pit c.3m x 2m x 1m deep. On s side is a smaller pit c.3m x 1.5m x 0.5m deep. On sw side the ring bank has been robbed. The cairn lies some 60m from the n edge of a quarry to the s (worksheet).
