A probable prehistoric to Romano-British enclosure is visible as a series of cropmark ditches on specialist oblique aerial photographs of 1990, to the north of Ash Thomas. The D-shaped single-ditched enclosure measures approximately 71m in length by 53m in width and is situated on gentle northeast facing slope. Several breaks in the enclosure ditch are visible along the northern, eastern and southern edges, although owing to the poor definition and clarity of edge of the cropmarks, it is not clear which of these may have constituted an entrance-way. Two oval-shaped cropmarks representing possible internal pits are also visible towards the eastern edge of the enclosure. The enclosure was not visible on other aerial photographs or digital images made available to the survey.
