Hut measures 5 metres in diameter. Double and single orthostat wall 1.4 metres wide, 0.9 metres high. A 3 metre long, 1 metres wide and 0.3 metres high line of stones on the north side of the doorway may represent a straight porch.

Full description

Stone hut circle forming part of a prehistoric settlement within the Kestor coaxial field system. Hut measures 5 metres in diameter. Double and single orthostat wall 1.4 metres wide, 0.9 metres high. Internal area 19.62 metres. 95 degree facing gap represents the door. A 3 metre long, 1 metres wide and 0.3 metres high line of stones on the north side of the doorway may represent a straight porch.

Centred SX 66458678. Three hut circles situated within several small enclosures on the moderate north-west facing slope of Chagford Common, 100 metres south-east of Round Pound. The huts are all terraced into the slope and vary in diameter from 4.9 metres to 8.8 metres. There are no obvious entrances.
All the huts are slightly ovoid and the diameters are averages for each hut.

(15/01/2019) Condition of enclosure and huts assessed by volunteer recorders as moderate, although gorse encroachment is severe in places, particularly affecting the pound walls.
