(02/04/1997) SX 6634 8661 Stone hut circle forming part of a prehistoric settlement within the Kestor coaxial field system. Measures 4.4m by 3.5m. Internal area 15.4m. Double orthostat wall 1.3m wide, 0.7m high. The door faces 157 degrees, is lined on both sides and measures 0.6m wide.

(11/10/1991) Centred SX 6635 8664. Two hut circles on the gentle north-west facing slope of Chagford Common 175m north-east of Batworthy Bridge. See also MDV59184.
The southern hut at SX 6635 8663 is D-shaped with the flat side to the south. The walls of upright slabs and boulders are about 1.5m wide and stand to a maximum of 0.45m high. The interior measures 4.3m east-west by 3.7m. A break in the centre of the south wall may indicate the site of an entrance. These huts were previously recorded under SX 68 NE 14. (see RCHME 1991 'Castor Survey' at 1:2500).

(21/01/2019) Condition of hut assessed by volunteer recorder as moderate, vegetation encroachment is affecting site. Vegetation encroachment scores on Hut A (=4), Hut B (=3). Hut A very difficult to locate and identification not certain.
