Two bowling greens are shown on a 1780 map.

Two bowling greens are shown on a 1780 map. Both to the north of the High Street, between Dowell Street and Northcote Lane, and almost side by side (above national grid refernce and ST16080070). The west one had been converted to a nursery by 1890 and now lies under a carpark.
