Full description

Gerrard, S., 1990-2002, Monument Protection Programme. Archaeological Item Dataset., MPP 148936, 10/4/1997 (Report - Survey). SDV277946.

At SX 6570 9061. Stone hut circle forming part of a prehistoric settlement within a coaxial field system on Throwleigh Common. Diameter 6 metres. Earthwork and rubble wall 1.8 metres wide, 0.7 metres high. A 100 degree facing gap may represent a doorway.

Western of two hut circles at Site '11' which consists of an arc of stones across the north-west corner of a small square enclosure at 'Throwleigh Common settlement'. This feature may be an unroofed pen or store.

A possible hut sited at the junction of two reaves. It comprises a 7 metre diameter stony ring with a 3 metre wide by 0.4 metre high bank.

Attempted visit 4/07/2017 but vegetation growth (primarily bracken) made it impossible to access. Unable to plot with GPS.
