One of a group of 'Hut Circles' shown on 19th century map.

At SX65829075. Stone hut circle forming part of a prehistoric settlement within a coaxial field system on Throwleigh Common. Diameter 6.1 metres. Earthwork and single orthostat wall 2.0 metres wide, 1.0 metre high. A 140 degree facing gap may represent a doorway. Earthwork with occasional protruding orthostat, gorse and bracken cover.

Eastern of three hut circles at Site '7'. They measure 6.1, 6.3 and 8.5 metres in diameter respectively and the largest retains its jamb stones. All are solidly built.

This hut comprises a substantial stony bank of 4.3 metres thick by 0.8 metres high. It is terraced into the slope with a scarp of 0.7 metres on the western side. The interior diameter is 7.7 metres. Little stone remains visible above the turf covering.

Site visited 4/07/2017. Plotted using GPS (SX65846 90763). Not as densely vegetated as surrounding area. Centre of hut circle was easily visible.
